Fable 2 review

After playing the original Fable many times, and waiting for years in anticipation of fable 2 i must say I am disappointed in many ways with the new fable game.

1/ Storyline

the story line was unforgivably short and lame. There was supposed to be emotion and love put into this game (litteraly, they announced many times in demonstrations that that was their objective). But this did not happen for me. After finishing the game once, my cousin and I played it in co-op (which actually takes longer) and finished it in one day.

I give the storyline 3/10


2/ the music

the music was nothing compared to fable, there was so much power and emotion put into it that you got so involved with the world, regardless of the map size and detail. Audio can be so much more powerful than sight, and this was a key feature missing in Fable 2.

3/ combat

Ah! here we go, something good to talk about! although my original experience with fable was fable tlc on PC, combat was created well and it was very fun to fight. Most of the time i ended up using sword and pistol though, because there is no mana bar and you have to charge to get to the more powerful attacks. WHAT? why would i want to sit there charging my attack losing majority of my health only to then kill half of the enemy There were even times when i would die before i was able to fully charge. melee and range was very fun though, and the stylistic fighting was quite impressive.

i give the combat system 8/10


4/ Gameplay

well there is a lot to do in Fable 2, and a lot of it is fun. Buying real estate and getting married are reasonable achievments in the game, especially when becoming king. Although when i put my wife in my castle she disappeared, my daughter keeps going around saying "it's nice seeing mummy always smile isn't it." Uh... no daughter it's not, because i can't see her! the family profile says she continually want sex, so she must be around somewhere. Jobs are lame.

5/ artwork

the artwork in the game is amazing, very graphically beautiful whether it's a light scene or dark both have been designed to create an amazing atmosphere. I quite liked the artwork in the original, and it's been outdone in the second. It is by far the best improvement in the game.
